St. Vincent LP School

In 1902 Rev. Fr. Sebastian Pattamana established St. Vincent L P School which is situated under the suburb of Ernakulam District Paravoor Thaluk in Ezhikkara Panchayath. In the beginning it was up to the 5th grade and later it was made as per the Government order till the 4th grade.

Holy Infant Jesus LP Girls School, Chathedom

Holy Infant Jesus Lower Primary Girls School was the reward of the hardwork of Rev. fr. Ignatious Jose K. Arooja, the vicar of St. Francis Assisi Church, Thuruthipuram. The Verapoly Archdiocese Educational Agency and good natives of the locality also helped Rev. Fr. Ignatius to start this school for Girls in 1917. From 2015 onwards the doors of the schools were opened for the boys also. The centenary function of this school in 2017 was widely celebrated.

St.Sebastian's LPS, Gothuruth

St . sebastian's LP school Gothuruth was established in the year 1878. Gothuruth ,earlier came under kodungallur Taluk which was a part of kingdom of Cochin . This school was the first public school to be established in kodungallur Taluk.

The school started functioning in 1878, in the island of Gothuruth, situated in the Northern side of Ernakulam, at the banks of the river Periyar. The school started off with a primary school in 1878 and it was elevated in 1920 and 1923 as upper primary school and highschool respectively. Until 1977,the school was under the administration of the Parish Gothuruth. In 1977, August it came under the authorityof Varapuzha Archdiocese. After Kottapuram diocese corporate agency was formed school came under their administration.

V .V George master served as the first headmaster of Saint Sebastian's LP school till 1970. After him 13 other staffs headed this institution . On 2017 June 1st Sri.Joseph .E.C took charge as the headmaster of this institution and as a part of giving good quality , productive ,free, and standard education to all the learners of the school under kottapuram Diocese , Gothuruth St.Sebastian's LP school's 142 years old building was rebuilt at the southwestern part with hi tech facilities including ,10 classrooms ,office, library ,pre primary classes ,openstage, toilet complex during his tenure.

Holy Cross LPS, Kadalvathurth

Holy Cross Lower primary School was established on May 18 1926 by Rev. Fr. Michael Nilaverath. The foundation stone for the reconstruction of this school was laid on 5th April 2013 and blessed by Rt. Rev. Dr. Joseph Karikkassery, Bishop of Kottapuram in 08th September 2013. The school is located in the rural area of Gothuruth.

St. Alban LPS, Kara

St. Albana L P School situated in Kara. Kara is a small village in Edavilangu Panchayath, is located on the shores of the Arabian Sea, about 7Km north west to the historic Kodungallur.St. Albana School was established in 1903 and this Saraswathi Temple has been shed the silverlining of knowledge many children who have reached the heights of life. It is a matter of pride that the late Rt. Rev. Fr. Cornelius Elenjikkal who was the ArchBishop of the Archdiocese of Varappuzha was an old Student of this School.

This is the land and building donated to the church by a Respected Person named Elenjikkal Kunjuvareedh Bavu in the name of his daughter Albana . He suggested that if the school was to start, it should be named after his daughter Albana . Hence the name St. Albana came It was headed by Father Theodorus , Vicar of the Parish from 1903 to 1907. This time school activities headed by Parappilli Kochunni Master and Mr.Cheekku Elenjikkal. This Institution which was under the Archdiocese of Varappuzha came under the Diocese of Kottapuram, when the Kottapuram Diocese was formed.

Santa Cruz LPS Kootukad

Santa Cruz L P School, Kootukad has got a prolonged history of more than a Century. Kootukad area was under the jurisdiction of Gothuruth Parish. As per the records kept in Gothuruth church office, a chapel cum prayer hall was established at Koottukad in 1897. Soon after that, an ‘Asan Palliukkoodam’ was established along with the cahpel. Details of the functioning of the Kootukad school is available in Gothuruth Church office records from 1906 onwards.in the year 1907&1908 school has received grant in aid from Government (Rs. 18/-for each year).due to unknown reasons, grand in aid of the school was withdrawn. But school continued to function with recognized status.in 1911 number of classes enhanced to two. In the academic year 1916-17 there were 28 boys and 29 girls were studying in this institution. But due to the unknown reasons school functioning was stopped; may be because of the instruction of the Government.

A new era was started after Fr.Michael Nilavareth, the great visionary became the Paris Priest of Gothuruth. After tiresome efforts and follow ups of Fr.Michael,Government approved to start a regular school at Kootukad. Santa Cruz school was inaugurated on june 7, 1920.later school was grown to seven divisions and 235 students.

Kootukad parish became an independent parish and parish church was blessed on November29, 1932.thus school became under the management of the parish. Preprimary was started in the year2006. New building was constructed under the leadership of Rev.Fr. Geroge Elenjikkal. And it was blessed by Bishop Rt.Rev.Dr.Francis Kallarakkal on March30, 2009.Scool Centenary Celebrations were held during 2019-2020.to commemorate the centenary celebrations, a computer lab was constructed under the sponsorship of the celebration committee. The computer lab was blessed by Rt.Rev.Dr. Joseph Karikkassery on January10, 2021.

St. Louis LPS, Kottuvally

Kottuvally St. Louis Lp School was established in the year 1820, in the name of saint St. Louis. Situated under of ernakulam district, paravoor thalook in Kottuvally panchayath. During the late 17th century, Karmalitha christian missionaries laid stone for the foundation and was approved by the kerala government in the year 1918 april 20th. Initially it was run by st. Sebastian church and later it was undertaken by Kottappuram corporate educational agency in the year 1989 and has been under there service till date.

St. Mary’s LPS, Krishnankotta

This school was established on 1921 by Rev. Fr. Ignatius Arooja. Mr. Krishna Ayyar was the first the Head master. This school was started with first standard. Later it was developed up to 4th Standard.

Our Lady of Mercy LPS, Kurumbathurth

This School was started by Rev Fr. Joseph Chennatt, the vicar of St. Francis Assisi church in 1948. The school is situated at the Periyar river bank. The present building was constructed in 2011 and had recent renovation after the flood in 2018.

Lisieux Malayalam LPS, Kuttanellur

This School was established on June 2, 1926. Rev. Fr. Augustine Kuttikkal was the founder of the School. After renovation, the new school building was blessed by Rt rev. dr. joseph Karikkassery, Bishop of Kottapuram and inaugurated by prof. Ravindranath, Educatioon Minister of Kerala on March I, 2020.

LFLPS, Lokamaleswaram

LFLPS, was formed at Lokamaleswaram village in Thrissur district of Kerala, in 1927 as a joint effort of many eminent personalities and localites. This school which had a heritage of 94 years, had a student strength of 117 with two divisions in those times. Even now the school is running successfully.

St. Joseph’s LPS, Munabam

St. Josep’s Lower primary School was Established by Rev. fr. Joseph Chammini in 1924. The school was started with two classes in the premise of Holy Family Church, Munabam. Mr. Balakrishna pillai was the first Head master. In 1956 Rev. Fr. Augustine Nedunilath developed this school as a complete LP school. From 1980, The School was the under the leadership of verapoly Arch Diocese. Now it is the part of Kottapuram Educational Agency.

St. Rockey’s LPS, Palliport

St. Rockey’s Lower Primary School started in 1898 with the ‘Ashan pallikoodam’ in a small old shed near Kottikkal hill and in 1903 the school building was started with the help of locals under the leadership of Rev Fr. Ignatius Aruja, the vicar of our lady of Snow Church, Palliport. The school building was renovated in 2002.

Little Flower LPS, Thekkethueth

Little Flower Lower primay School was established with first and second standards in the year 1926 and endorsed in 1929. The school was established by rev. Fr. Michael Nilaverath. Thekkethuruth was a small island which is part of St. Sebastian Church, Gothurth. The school building was donated by thekkethuruth Valiyakulangara Bhagavathi temple committee. The first Head Master was Mr. KM Mathai and the teachers who served during the early days of the school were Mr. Vasudevan, Mr. joseph Francis, Mrs. TJ Treesa and Miss PA Philomina. The School has completed 95 years of its glorious service in guiding and enlightening the students.

St. Antony’s UP School

This school was established on 1905. It belongs to the Mala Sub District, Irijalakuda Educational district. It is located near St. Antony’s Church, Malapallipuram. In 1950 the 5yh standard come into existence. The school was upgraded as a UP School in 1982 as a result of the efforts of Rev. Fr. Paul Attipetti and Headmaster, EK Aloucius master.

St Thomas UPS, Thuruthoor

St Thomas U P School is situated in the premises of St Thomas Church in Thuruthur near Puthenvelikkara. Late Msgr.Ver .Rev. Fr. Francis Kuttikal realised that a school is required for the development of Thuruthur and started a LP School in 1952. Rev.Sr.Mary Angel was the first headmistress . Followed by her Rev. Sr. Virginia took the charge from1957 to 1981. During this period the school excelled in its performance and was upgraded to UP school in the academic year 1967-68. The school was under the management of CTC till the period of 1968-69 and later went under the management of Verapoly Education Agency.

St. Joseph's HS, Chathedom

St, Joseph's H S, the cradle of enlightenment, emanating radiance of knowledge to all sectors of life, is a reputed School at Thuruthipuram. The knowledge wrapped in love has been flowing from St. Joseph's School since 1920 and this prestigious centre of learning is reaching its glorious Centenary.

Rev.Fr. Ignatius D Aruja, Vicar of St.Francis of Assisi Church, Thuruthipuram, established St. Joseph Lower Primary School in 1920.Rev.Fr.Joseph G Chenatt, who served as the Vicar of Thuruthipuram Church from 1940-1957 upgraded this school to Upper Primary School.Followed by Rev.Fr.Philip Komaranchath OSJ, who was the Vicar of Thuruthipuram Church,from 1973 to 1982, constructed a spacious & comfortable multistoried concrete building to replace the old and dilapidated School bulidings.in 1979, Upper Primary was upgraded to St. Joseph High School and the functioning of High School was moved to the new building.the first headmaster of the high School was Francis Kallingal Sir and the manager was Rev.Fr. Philip OSJ. The first high school batch passed out in March 1982.

St Sebastian's school is the first public school in Paravur and Kodungallur area. The first elementary school was founded in Gothuruth in the year 1878. Prior to this there were two or three Asan Kalaris' (informal education centers to teach vernacular letters and basic arithmetic). School education was formalised and regularised after the establishment of the above mentioned elementary school.

Gothuruth belonged to Cranganore Taluk in the erstwhile Cochin State and Gothuruth school was the first public school established in the Taluk. The GBHSS at Crangnore commenced functioning in the year 1890, 12 years after establishment of At Sebastian's School Gothuruth. Even though school in North Paravur (Travancore) started in 1869, it was not a public school, admissions were strictly restricted to high caste students.

Government grant in aid was allotted to this school from the year 1896. School was upgraded to Lower Secondary School in 1919. And later, upgraded to High School in the year of 1923. The historic pioneering by the great visionary Very Rev Fr Michael Nilavareth shall be acknowledged promptly. Fr Nilavareth was the vicar of Gothuruth church and Forane Vicar of Kodungallure (1919 - '34). He is known to be the architect of modern Gothuruth. The period was the golden era in the history of Gothuruth HS. School was upgraded to HS under his leadership. Lot of students were admitted from the neighbourhood as day scholars. Hostel facility was also provided for students from distant locations.

In the year 1957 LP School was separated from HS. In 1998 HS celebrated its Platinum jubilee of upgrading and a solid souvenir was published denoting the history. In the same year High School was again upgraded to Higher Secondary School. Under the corporate manager Rev: Fr. Thomas Padassery, the HSS building was blessed and inaugurated by then Bishop of kottapuram diocese Rt. Rev. Dr. Francis Kallarakkal. The HSS wing has completed 23 years of smooth functioning.

High School section is entering to the 100th year and preparing for centenary celebrations. We can be proud that this temple of knowledge is standing head high as a light tower spreading the light of knowledge for about one and half a century.

St.Mary's HS, Palliport

St. Mary's High School was founded in 1900 during the reign of Archbishop Bernard. There is a record that there was an 'Asan pallikkodam' in 'Kottupura' near Manjumata's church around 1850. Rev. Ronald Lewis took a special interest in this 'pallikkodam'. This became St. Mary's English School in 1900, overcoming many obstacles. The school was relocated in 1914 by Father Joseph Chammini near the famous 'Kadalattuku Rishupally'. With that, St. Louis Primary School and St. Mary's Middle School began to operate in separate buildings. St. Louis Primary School became part of St. Mary's Middle School in 1949 by special order of the government. In the meantime, efforts have been made to upgrade it to a high school During the time when Rev. Fr Francis Kuttikal was the vicar, he came to UP to establish a high schoolfor that thehe land just north of the school was purchased. However, permission was not granted to start high school at that time. It was upgraded to a high school in 1982 as a result of the work of Rev. Fr.Varghese Valavanthara.Sri. N G Sebastian appointed as the head of the institution at that time.
